Lippert LCI Sway Command Kit with Accelerometer and Gyroscope
Protect yourself from sway events with our Lippert LCI Sway Command Kit with Accelerometer and Gyroscope. Designed and manufactured in the United States our sway command kit is a must-have towing device when towing a camper trailer. Great for helping to protect not only yourself but others on the road when you come into contact with unforeseen hazards like road trains, fallen trees and wind gusts, requiring quick manoeuvres, that can cause an out-of-control sway event. Using microprocessor technology the sway command adds stability in the event of excessive sway, by applying the brakes before the driver has a chance to react, creating a smooth driving experience. The microprocessor utilises an inbuilt accelerometer measuring the lateral force and a gyroscope that measures angular velocity. The command kit is also able to distinguish between sway events and normal bumps you would experience when driving off-road. What's more the Command kit runs independently with your existing brake control, so if there's an issue the sway command kit won't be affected.
The control unit should be mounted on the front of the towed vehicle along with a light pod that should be visible to the driver. The control unit is then wired in parallel to the vehicle's brakes. The system is cleverly designed to display red flashes from the light pod when the brakes are automatically engaged due to a sway event. Once the vehicle is stable the colour will go green.
